Yes, when you choose a transparent background. You get a PNG with no white box around it. Transparent backgrounds are part of Basic, Pro and Studio; free accounts get the emoji on a plain background.

What size should I download for Slack or Discord?

Download a square PNG at a small size such as 128 × 128 pixels. Each app has its own size and file limits, so check them when you upload.
